Apollo Phantom 2.0 Stellar at speed

Apollo Phantom 2.0 Stellar · 60V

You asked how fastit actually goes.

Top speed, Ludo Mode

85 km/h

Dual 3350W motors. 7,000W peak. Zero to 32 km/h in 2.3 seconds. This is the fastest scooter Apollo has ever built, and the whole machine was engineered around holding that number, not just touching it once.

"Riding it, I always get the same question from strangers. How fast does that go?"

Tom C. · Phantom 2.0 Stellar owner

The short answer

Four modes. One of them is Ludo.

Most scooters give you one number and hope you never test it. The Stellar gives you four, and the top one is not a marketing figure. Ludo is a mode you select with one tap, and it adds 10% more torque than Sport across the entire acceleration curve, not just off the line.

Riding the Phantom 2.0 Stellar with a city skyline behind

85 is not a spec sheet number.
It is a mode you select.

Why the number usually lies

Top speed is easy.Keeping it is not.

Almost any scooter can flash a big number on a fresh battery, on flat ground, for about four seconds. Then physics arrives. What goes wrong at the top of the dial is never the motor.

  • 01

The battery sags before the motor does

Pulling 100 amps from a pack not built for it causes voltage sag. Your 85 becomes 70, then 60, and the last third of the ride is slow whether you want it or not.

  • 02

The controller overheats and quietly throttles you

Cheap controllers protect themselves by cutting power. No warning. You just notice the scooter feels flat ten minutes into a fast ride.

  • 03

The brakes were specced for a slower scooter

Stopping energy rises with the square of speed. A setup that is adequate at 45 km/h is dangerous at 85, and it fades fast on a long descent.

  • 04

    The chassis gets nervous

Speed wobble, deck flex, suspension that packs down over bumps. If you cannot take a hand off the bar to signal, you are not riding at that speed. You are surviving it.

The Stellar was built the other way around: Apollo started with 85 km/h as a requirement, then specced the battery, controller, brakes and suspension to meet it. Every section below is one of those decisions.

Apollo MACH 3 controller

01 · The controller

Unleash all 7,000W.

Built specifically for the Stellar, the MACH 3 delivers up to 100 amps of discharge, double the MACH 1, and its sine-wave architecture releases that power progressively rather than in one shove. The result rivals 72V machines without the bulk or the unpredictability.

  • Peak output 7,000W
  • Motors 3350W x2 peak
  • Discharge Up to 100A
  • Max incline 25 degrees
Ludo Mode on the Apollo Phantom 2.0 Stellar

02 · The mode

Ludo Mode.Nothing held back.

Ludo does not simply raise the ceiling. It rewrites the acceleration curve, so you get a stronger pull from every speed, not just from a standstill. Precision traction control runs underneath, cutting wheel spin and keeping the rear planted while the power builds.

  • Top speed 85 km/h
  • Torque vs Sport +10%
  • Traction control Always active
Apollo Phantom 2.0 Stellar range

03 · The battery

The pack that stops the sag.

60V. 30Ah. 1,800Wh. The largest battery in the Phantom lineup, using Samsung's highest-discharge cells in the same 21700 format as premium EV platforms. They were not chosen for the spec sheet. They were chosen because the MACH 3 demands more current than a normal pack can supply without collapsing.

  • Capacity 60V 30Ah · 1,800Wh
  • Cells Samsung 21700
  • Range Up to 90 km
  • Charge cycles 600+
  • Enclosure CoreShield steel-bond

Range varies with rider weight, speed and terrain. The 90 km figure is Eco mode at a steady pace. Ride in Ludo and you will use it faster, which is the honest answer.

Four-piston hydraulic braking on the Apollo Phantom 2.0 Stellar

04 · The brakes

Stopping is the feature.

Four-piston hydraulic calipers on ceramic pads, biting 2.3mm rotors, the thickest Apollo is aware of in this class. They do not warp, they do not rub, and they resist the heat fade that ruins two-piston setups on a long descent. Power RBS regen does the everyday work and reclaims up to 10% of your range, leaving the hydraulics as overbuilt backup.

  • Calipers 4-piston hydraulic
  • Rotors 2.3mm
  • Pads Ceramic
  • Regen Power RBS, adjustable
DNM adjustable dual hydraulic suspension

05 · The chassis

Planted, not nervous.

125mm of DNM dual-spring hydraulic suspension, fully adjustable rebound and preload, tuned for stability at speed rather than softness at walking pace. Add 11x4 inch PunctureGuard tubeless tyres for a wider contact patch, and SmoothRide coordinating throttle, braking and suspension so weight transfer is managed for you. Corners stay flat, and high-speed bumps stop being events.

  • Travel 125mm
  • Adjustment Rebound + preload
  • Tyres 11 x 4 in, self-healing
  • Max load 330 lbs

06 · The app

Tune it yourself.

The MACH 3 exposes tuning parameters the standard Phantom 2.0 does not: throttle curve, acceleration profile, and regen sensitivity at different speeds. Set it soft for the commute, sharp for the weekend. Over-the-air updates mean the scooter you buy is not the scooter you keep.

07 · Being seen

Visible from 500 feet.

At this speed you need to be noticed earlier than a normal headlight allows. The Apollo Beam projects a vertical eye-level beam that drivers actually register, for 61% higher visibility. Turn signals sit in the stem and deck, and the rear cluster runs continuously with a brake-activated flash.

From riders who bought it for the speed

★★★★★

Insane speed and acceleration. It really does let you go as fast as you're willing to go. It doesn't limit you. Pure concentrated fun to ride.

Leo U. · 1,500 km ridden
★★★★★

Acceleration is insane, and I'm 220lbs. The hydraulic suspension makes the ride buttery smooth and incredibly stable at speed. The 4-piston brakes deliver pure confidence.

Bradley R. · Verified buyer
★★★★★

Most scooters in this power range punch the second you tap the throttle. The Stellar builds speed cleanly instead of trying to rip your arms off. Super stable, really planted.

Dash · Verified buyer
★★★★★

When I tried Ludo it was breathtaking. The acceleration is fantastic. Just what I wanted.

Hans K. · Third Apollo owned
★★★★★

Insane power, yet incredibly controllable. Built like a tank, but rides like a Rolls.

Rónán · Verified buyer
★★★★★

The dual motors give plenty of torque for hills and quick takeoffs, and the hydraulic brakes inspire confidence at higher speeds.

Straight answers

Questions riders ask.

How fast does it actually go?

85 km/h in Ludo Mode, with 70 in Sport, 40 in Normal and 25 in Eco. Zero to 32 km/h takes 2.3 seconds, and zero to 48 km/h about 4. Those figures assume a charged battery, level ground and an average rider. Heavier riders or steep terrain pull them down, which is true of every scooter ever made.

Can I legally ride at 85 km/h?

Almost certainly not on a public road. Rules in Canada are set province by province and municipality by municipality, and most cap speed far below the Stellar's ceiling. Ludo Mode is intended for private property and closed courses. Check your local regulations before you ride. The lower modes exist precisely so the scooter is usable everywhere else.

Is it too much scooter for a first-time buyer?

It does not have to be. Eco and Normal modes are calmer than most commuter scooters, and the app lets you soften the throttle curve so power arrives gently. Plenty of riders spend their first month in Normal and work up. The advantage of buying the Stellar early is that you never outgrow it.

What range do I get if I actually ride it fast?

The 90 km figure is Eco mode at a steady pace. Ride in Sport or Ludo and you will see meaningfully less, because speed costs energy in a way no battery chemistry can argue with. The 1,800Wh pack is the largest in the Phantom line so that fast riding still returns a usable distance rather than a lap of the block.

How does it stop from 85?

Four-piston hydraulic calipers with ceramic pads on 2.3mm rotors, backed by Power RBS regen on both motors. Regen handles most everyday slowing and reclaims up to 10% of your range, which keeps the hydraulics cool and available when you need them properly. The dual-motor regen is coordinated so the rear wheel does not lock.

How heavy is it?

107 lbs, and it carries riders up to 330 lbs. This is not a scooter you carry up three flights of stairs. It folds, but the honest framing is that the weight is where the battery, brakes and suspension came from. Lighter scooters at this speed made that trade somewhere you would not want them to.

What happens if something breaks?

Major components are covered by a 12-month limited warranty from delivery, and the frame (stem, neck and deck) carries lifetime coverage. There are 60+ certified repair centres, in-app support staffed by Apollo technicians, and fast parts availability. This is the part of ownership that separates brands, and it is worth weighing before you buy anything at this price.

Is it stable at speed, or does it wobble?

The chassis is built around stability, not comfort alone: 125mm of adjustable DNM hydraulic suspension, an aerospace-grade aluminium frame torture-tested to 10,000 km, and 11x4 inch tyres for a wide contact patch. SmoothRide coordinates suspension, throttle and braking so weight transfer stays managed when you brake and corner at once.

Riding an Apollo Phantom at dusk

The answer, one more time

85 km/h.And everythingbuilt to hold it.

You already know it is the fastest thing Apollo makes. The reason to buy it is that the brakes, the battery, the chassis and the warranty were all specced to that number, not to the hope you would never find it.
