Our story · since 2018
a world for people, not cars.
Daily commute or Sunday ride — electric scooters you can depend on for years, not seasons.
Whether it's your daily commute or your Sunday ride, we build electric scooters you can depend on for years, not seasons. This is what built to last means to us.
Our story · 2018 — today
the evolution of apollo.
Eight years of decisions and leaps — from ten imported scooters in a Montreal apartment to a new generation built to last. This is how we got here.
ten scooters, one apartment.
It started as a market test. Chris and Mac imported a batch of 10 scooters for distribution and sold them out of an apartment — repairs in the hallway, test rides in the underground garage, every order handed over in person. The demand was real. The scooters weren't.
stop importing. start engineering.
The factories wouldn't listen. What came off the line left us — and our riders — frustrated. So we made the call: Eloi, our third co-founder and CTO, got to work. The Phantom was born — our first venture into proprietary design, built hand-in-hand with the manufacturer.
a portfolio, one scooter at a time.
The Air. The City. The Explore. The Ghost. Before we knew it, we had a lineup of our own. The hardware kept getting closer to what the riders were looking for — the right battery, the right wheel — but we still couldn't make the scooter behave like we wanted it to. The solution: we had to make our own controller.

our first controller
Getting the parts right wasn't enough — the brain had to be ours. We went a level deeper and co-developed our own controller with one of the industry's premier partners. The MACH controller gave us the signature Apollo feel: regenerative braking, connectivity, power delivery you can trust. The things we now take for granted started here.
- Regenerative braking, tuned in house
- Connectivity built into the brain, not bolted on
- Short-circuit, overcurrent, overcharge & temperature protection as standard
the apollo app was born
The next frontier wasn't a part: it was software. The Apollo app and backend let riders make the machine theirs: acceleration profiles, regen strength, navigation, rewards. Hardware and software merged into one personalized ride, and the fleet started talking back.

out of the niche, into best buy.
The scooters that started in an apartment went mainstream. Apollo moved beyond direct-to-consumer and onto shelves across North America — Best Buy in the USA, Amazon, and a growing network of retail partners. Distribution finally caught up with the product.
- Best Buy — USA retail launch
- Amazon storefront, coast to coast
- A growing dealer & partner network
a new generation. built to last.
Apollo 2.0 is our completely new generation of scooters. Every one carries a lifetime frame warranty; our confidence in our products. And the app becomes the first to integrate AI: a technician in your pocket. Everything we've learnt, aimed at one goal — the highest-quality, longest-lasting electric scooters on the road, for people who ride them seriously.
- Lifetime frame warranty — on every Apollo 2.0
- AI in the app — a technician in your pocket
- The full Apollo signature feature set — standard on every model
beyond the scooter.
Everything the scooters taught us — the MACH platform, the app, the lifetime frame warranty — applies to more than scooters. In 2026, Apollo expands into new categories, starting with our first e-bikes.
Our mission · 90 seconds
why we build what we build.
Mac, co-founder, on the mission behind Apollo — in ninety seconds.
How we build
six things we refuse to charge extra for.
Most brands treat safety, longevity, and smart tech as upgrades. We made the opposite call: these six technologies come on every scooter we make — cheapest to fastest — because a scooter built to last needs all six. Tap any to see what it does.
Most of the industry treats safety, longevity, and smart tech as upgrades — reserved for the expensive model, sold as an add-on, or held back for next year. We made the opposite decision. These six technologies come on every scooter we make, from our most affordable to our fastest.
Not because it's cheap to do — it isn't — but because a scooter built to last needs all six. Tap any of them to see what it does.
Signature feature
Power RBS
Regenerative braking: slowing down sends energy back into the battery instead of wasting it as heat. It means fewer worn brake pads, less maintenance, and a few extra miles on every ride. We tuned it ourselves on our own controller, which is why it feels natural rather than grabby.
Signature feature
Puncture Guard
Self-sealing liners inside every tire close small punctures the moment they happen. Glass, staples, road debris — the ride keeps going. It's the single most common reason a scooter gets abandoned in a garage, so we solved it on every model.
Signature feature
Apollo App
Your scooter connects to your phone: ride stats, anti-theft lock, and over-the-air firmware updates that add features and refine the ride years after purchase. Most scooters are as good as they'll ever be the day you unbox them. Ours aren't.
Signature feature
Beam Light
A vertical column of light on the stem, visible from the side as well as head-on — the angle where riders are most often missed. We studied how drivers actually notice people at night and built the light around the answer, then put it on every model.
Signature feature
DOT Display
Speed, battery, and ride mode on a display you can read at noon in July without shielding it with your hand. A small thing until it's the information you need at 30 mph.
Signature feature
Ludo Mode
One tap unlocks the scooter's complete acceleration profile. It exists because we engineer the controller, motors, and battery as one system — so the hardware can safely deliver everything the software allows.

Did you know
Apollo was the first in the category to run a beta tester program; we call it the Early Access Program. Every feature above is tested under real conditions by real riders before it ships.
BUILT FOR REALITY
built for riders, by riders.
We know our scooters — we test them and ride them ourselves. But we also build with real rider input. Every scooter runs through our Early Access Program before it ships: 8+ weeks, 10,000+ km, on real streets, with real riders. We use what we learn to make sure it's ready before it ships.
"the regen brake will bring me to a stop on this hill from 20 miles an hour without needing to touch the brakes. the biggest selling point is the regen brake, now that it works properly."
"suspension surprisingly good. even here in san francisco with a lot of potholes, we go through all of them fine."
"replaced my second car. two years of daily commuting and it hasn't missed a day."
