Understanding Apollo scooter weight limits and rider guidance
Every Apollo scooter has a maximum load. It includes the rider plus anything they carry: a backpack, groceries, equipment.
Current models
Model | Max load | Scooter weight |
|---|---|---|
Apollo Dash | 220 lbs (100 kg) | 43 lbs |
Apollo Go | 265 lbs (120 kg) | 49 lbs |
Apollo Go Stellar | 265 lbs (120 kg) | 55 lbs |
Apollo City 2.0 | 265 lbs (120 kg) | 72 lbs |
Apollo City Stellar | 265 lbs (120 kg) | 83 lbs |
Apollo Explore 2.0 | 265 lbs (120 kg) | 60 lbs |
Apollo Phantom 2.0 (52V) | 330 lbs (150 kg) | 102 lbs |
Apollo Phantom 2.0 Stellar (60V) | 330 lbs (150 kg) | 107 lbs |
Older models
Model | Max load |
|---|---|
Apollo Air | 220 lbs (100 kg) |
Apollo City (2022 to 2024) | 265 lbs (120 kg) |
Apollo Ghost | 300 lbs (135 kg) |
Apollo Pro | 330 lbs (150 kg) |
Heavier or taller riders
The Phantom 2.0 and Phantom 2.0 Stellar are our biggest scooters and carry the most (up to 330 lbs). The City 2.0 and City Stellar have the power and comfort for bigger riders within 265 lbs.
How rider weight affects performance
Range: a heavier rider gets less range, because the motor draws more power to carry the load.
Acceleration and top speed: lighter riders accelerate faster. A heavier load may slightly lower the top speed, especially on inclines.
Hill climbing: this is where weight shows most. Dual-motor models (Go, Go Stellar, City Stellar, Phantom 2.0, Phantom 2.0 Stellar) handle hills best, but a very steep hill still slows any scooter, more so with a heavier rider.
Braking distance: a heavier load takes a little longer to stop. Ride with extra space.
Troubleshooting and FAQ
What happens if I ride over the weight limit? We strongly advise against it. It puts excessive stress on the frame, suspension, motor and brakes, lowers performance, can be a safety hazard and can void the warranty.
Will I get the advertised range near the weight limit? Probably not. Advertised range is measured in ideal conditions: a rider around 165 lbs (75 kg), flat ground, Eco mode. Closer to the max load, expect less.
