How to Transfer Ownership of Your Scooter (selling or giving it away)

Last updated November 4, 2026

If you are selling or giving your Apollo scooter to someone else, transfer ownership yourself in the Apollo app. Support does not need to do it.

The new owner needs an Apollo app account first. If they do not have one yet, they create it in the Apollo app, then you follow the same steps.

Steps to transfer ownership

  1. Open the Apollo app and tap your scooter's name in the sidebar. If you own more than one scooter, tap "Switch Scooter" first.

  2. In Scooter Details, scroll down to the Security & Ownership section.

  3. Tap Transfer Ownership.

  4. Enter the new owner's email address (the one linked to their Apollo account), then tap Transfer Ownership to confirm.

What happens next

  • The transfer completes immediately once confirmed.

  • The new owner can connect to the scooter right away and is not asked for a PIN on first pairing.

  • The existing PIN is not changed automatically. The new owner can update it at any time in the app.

  • If the scooter is still under warranty, the warranty transfers to the new owner as well.

  • No email or other notification is sent to either owner at this time.

If the previous owner cannot transfer it

The new owner can claim the scooter: on the PIN screen, tap "This scooter is mine: claim it" (or Scooter Details, Security & Ownership, "Claim this scooter" if connected as a guest). It is approved right away when their purchase or phone matches. Otherwise the app asks for a proof of purchase and a photo ID, and the registered owner gets 7 days to object. If they do not answer and have not used their Apollo account, the scooter becomes theirs.
